FSi has a membership base of around 190 companies. Among these are the four major players: Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Nammo, Thales Norway and NFM Group. These companies represent the backbone of the Norwegian defence and security industry and play a crucial role in maintaining the country's national security.

In addition to the four major players, the FSi membership consists mainly of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that excel in advanced technology and high competence at the component and subsystem level. These companies form a foundation for innovation and development in the industry, and their contribution is crucial to securing Norway's position as a leading player in the defense and security industry.

It is worth noting that the defense-related turnover of FSi member companies was significant in 2021, with a total turnover of NOK 23 billion per year. Of this turnover, exports accounted for approximately 70%, which underlines the international importance and competitiveness of the Norwegian defense and security industry.
